Hey Vivek,

There is a boris tutorial for creating that tv opener.

Here's the link...

Kevin -

Great tutorial. Very well described. Great tips that have implications far beyond just this tutorial, which makes them REALLY useful.

I have to do these tutorials a lot myself and you have set the bar very high. Nice work.

My only issue is that I disagree that the lens flare - like the hoop - should completely disappear if the tennis ball is out of frame. Consider ANY light, like the sun. Sometimes the sun is NOT in your frame, but you still can get a lens flare from a light that is not visible on screen, so if the tennis ball is a light source, not ALL of the flare elements would disappear from the frame when the ball disappears. I think your flare could have been a few frames longer.

But a great, great tutorial. Nice work.

Nice tutorial, but they is no BCC8 for Vegas Pro yet, so.... I'll try an pull this off in BLUE. Any way..

[Steve Hullfish] I don't it's fair to fiorce people to follow rules with regards to lghts and flares and such. With ANY effect shot the only rule is what looks good to you and what you are trying to accomplish to sell the shot. Since Kevin wasn't trying to create a realistic flare, it didn't matter. I mean it's a tennis ball, dude. Did it HAVE to be realistic? It's a tennis ball... And I, uh, think your'e the only one that noticed ;)

This may be a silly question but I am just wondering where the BBC8 Effects can be found/ downloaded from?
I am learning how to use AE for my year 12 research project and this looks like a great tutorial that I cant wait to try:)
